Very cold with light snow. Big Group (mature cows) feed day.

Trending colder and windy. Cows moved into next split.
Snow and colder. Big group feed day. I moved 2’s and 3’s (young cows). Moves are mostly for impact as the young group is relying mostly on straw with alfalfa supplement every 2 days.
Nice day with steady winds. Cows moved to next split-mostly 1 to 2 day moves. Trailed cull cows to corrals for working with some being trucked to auction on Tuesday.
Happy Valentines Day! More wind brings melting temperatures. Along with regular feeding (not main group), I moved both cow groups to fresh splits. At bedtime Dana hears a pygmy owl while in the hot tub.
Uneven, warmer, colder, windy. Full feed day including the main cow group. I love how we can hold the cows back with temporary fence, so the hay can be laid out evenly with equal access for all cows. I am seeing a few short-eared owls near the cows in NBW.
Cooler with more light snow-and of course wind. More help feeding, as I attended/facilitated the bi-monthly Musselshell Watershed Coalition meeting.
Some warming masked by strong SW to NW winds. All groups fed day, including the cows every three day feeding.
