Corrals: 10 light calve + 4 culls in corrals. Full feed straw. Still escaped. WG6: Cows (416 includes some dries) Entry: As I needed to travel to Bozeman, we just did one move. Also, a feed day. Weather: Sharply colder delivering gusty winds rather than hoped for rain.

Not sure they need it with the early green up, yet respecting Rick’s recommendation. Moves cows 2x and located then on tank near the storage pit. More meadowlarks arriving and singing. A wonderful group of noisy redwings hanging in the yard. Weather: Mostly warmer again. Some hope for rain in next few days

Travis calls our cows about a frame score 4. He is impressed with cow’s condition and uniformity. Travis’ country also dry. We hope he can find some place to run and breed our heifers. While moving cows I, too, hear the song of meadowlark, a grass melody worth the wait. Weather: Much warmer.

Geese make their daily at dusk trip from reservoir over the headquarters to pick at aftermath grain just west of building. Carlyle off for 3 days to an apprentice workshop. Dana off to Polson, via Natalie stop, then on Monday to North Carolina with Max and Moria. Weather: Hot? 70 +…and now wind.
