Warmer again. I woke up heat droopy cows in the afternoon with new split in NG2. Hoppers reported to the east and south of us.

Partly cloudy, mild, and breezy. The north side of the ranch is dryer, and the upland grasses are curling back. No moves today. A few cool birds passed through today: catbird, orange-crowned warbler, cedar waxwings; tree swallow (nesting); western tanager; and west of house about 15 white pelicans flew by heading north.
Cold this morning, but no frost. No move. Then turning warmer and breezy for the day. Is this the beginning of a prolonged dry period-maybe drought? Discouraging seeing the grasses start to turn at this stage in the growing season. The woodhouse toad arrives at the front door-welcome rhythms of the season. Soon the nighthawk, I hope.
Partly cloudy, windy with modest temperatures. No moves. After 30 days we are well past 75% of cows calved. Just as we had hoped.
Gusty winds, cold…and dry. All day. Cows stay put. Poor will seen calling on picnic table outside office at dusk. Light shower blows through right when I was fencing. I got pretty wet. Cows moved to last split in NG6a.
Nothing special. Dryness a growing concern. Left for Bozeman to attend RMG meeting and sit and talk with Bozeman Sangha.
