Cool, cloudy, and hopeful for moisture. We moved 2’s twice, the second move to offer more protection for predicted cold north winds. Cows moved to last split in WG1. Sharptails still dancing, and hundreds of Pine Siskens gather around the headquarters.

Partly cloudy and cool. Cows moved to next 3rd split in WG1. 2’s move to next split. Natalie and I finally trailed all the lingering pairs out of the SG6 early in the morning. Eastern and Western Kingbirds are back.
Calm and pleasant. Both 2’s and cows moved to next splits.
Very warm and pleasant, yet wet and unpleasant is more what we want. Maybe this weekend, as snow is predicted. Heifers moved to second split SNG8. Cows stayed put, as young pairs are spread over a mile back into SG6. The first apple tree is beginning to shed its white abundant blossoms, and new apples will begin to grow. Western Kingbird seen the headquarters water hole.
Warm and clear. I moved cows into WGI first split. Only the front end of the group moved in. Hard to get tail end pairs to move up. Bulls very content. I found a new sharp tail lek in SW corner of NG1. So many sharptails.
Partly cloudy and warmer. Early morning trail with bulls to NG6a first split. Cows stayed put. 2’s moved into first split in SNG8 (east half). East crab apple tree in full bloom white as snow covered with bees ensuring the next apple crop.
More scattered showers, not too heavy but every drop that falls is welcome. We moved cows to last split in SG7-now watering at cell center at Ryan’s. Trailed bulls (17) out of little Switzerland-took two tries before we got them all trapped in corrals. We will trail the bulls to NG6a tomorrow. White-throated swifts nesting in the rocks-never tire of their superb flying acrobatics.
Cool with light showers and occasional thunder and rainbows. No moves today. Everyone working either on fences or buildings. Just southeast of house, where we fed straw in February, I observed geese and one Sandhill Crane. I have continued to hear the geese in the evenings and mornings, yet I failed to recognize how close they were to the headquarters.
More light showers yet nothing hardly to measure. I moved cows to next split in SG7. I heard three snipe’s whirring evening calls along our intermittent creek where the cows are.
Cool and overcast. We moved heifers to last split in SNG7. Cows stayed put. Natalie, Ryan, and I are trading nights and mornings to check the cows. We took sheep wagon to water center.
