Where: Cows (275 + 8 yearlings) WG-12; bulls (22) in LW-1; yearlings (156?) in L-2). Daily moves for all groups. Planned to move from WG-12 to 2. We lose water pressure and wind through various scenarios to locate the problem. Rick Adolph helped fill the water tanks with his truck. Tatman hauled 20000 gallons to the pit. In the end a float had broken on a tank we were no longer using and completely drained our storage pit. Unforced ERROR. There are reasons for following protocols! Ranch campers oblivious to our water problems had a marvelous afternoon at the reservoir. All calm and stable as day ends. Weather: Perfect. Basking in cooling “prairie trade winds” while enjoying our late evening meal.

Wade helped me capture 3 more dries out of the cows to fill out load to Mannix. 22 cows averaged 1162#. Our herd continues to weigh in between 1100 and 1200 pounds/head. |
