Eclipse. Warm with cooling in the evening. I placed the cows in SBW6. The idea of weaning early is being explored.

Less hot and smoky. In the evening moved cows into the rest of SBW5. Until it rains and softens feed, it may make more sense to allow animals to spread out further. I observed 5 coyotes together in creek bottom in SBW4. I also saw my first horn toad for the year while fencing in SBW5.
Hot and smoky. In the evening I move cows east further into SBW5 to top greened up clover and dried clover. We were in this paddock early May. Cows grazed the first split too close. Cows’ break out pressured me temporarily out of rotation.
Hot again. Sometimes when walking in the heat over brittle feed, you just wonder-really?! Mid-day cows break out again into SBW5. I carve out a small paddock on the west end of 5. I suspect the taste of ‘burnt’ clover is the draw.
Warming again. Cows stay in first split after brief breakout into SBW5 along riparian area.
Warm yet comfortable. The new booster-pump for the pipeline was permanently installed. This ranch investment will help ensure our storage pit remains full and that is essential for consistent water delivery for the cows. In the evening we opened up a lane through NG6 to first split to SBW4 along riparian area.
Cool front this morning with light showers. I transport the Perez family to the Airport. Ryan is working on fencing projects.
About the same pattern-warm and smoky. Cows are moved into SE side of paddock NG1. Moria's last day on the ranch before heading back to Connecticut.
A little warmer and not as smoky as the Flathead. Cows drift into the un-grazed portion of SG6.
