Cloudy and windy. Cows moved into 2nd split in EL5a. See photo of moon rise when leaving from water check. Hornet population is picking up with mild fall weather. Honey guys dropped off our annual boxes of honey. The lichen crew left this morning, and we are a little sad already with their departure. Always a joy to be around people who enjoy each other and love their work.

Continued mild. I facilitated CMR Sage Grouse committee on Lewistown. Cows are still in EL6. Small PDs colony are in NE corner of paddock along edge of wall.
Warm and pleasant-ideal fall weather. Dana is feeding the lichen folks well and enjoying the meal conversations.
After breakfast and a daily strategy meeting the group split up and collected specimens all morning. Our guesthouse has turned into a lichen laboratory with dissecting microscopes, chemicals that help with identification and a million reference books...
Ryan saved this beautiful Hog-nosed snake from the road this morning. For a man who runs from a tiny spider he sure loves his snakes. This is the first one in two years he's seen. They are currently a "species of concern".
