Cool and warming into the day. Preg tested 305 cows-96%! Also collected seven liver samples to test for any nutrition deficiency, as a follow task for trying to figure out why we lost some calves last spring. Cows moved from corrals into SNG8.

Another nice day. We trailed cows down county road to corrals in preparation for preg testing.
Light morning drizzle and then turning nice. I moved cows into an east side split of NG7.
Overcast and off and on again light sprinkles. NG6. Beautiful Ferruginous hawk along road to check cows. Surprised one is still here.
Still in Polson. Calmer weather and cows move into NG6.
More unsettled weather all around the state. Heavy rain and winds in the Northwest. One more day for cows grazing in SBW5 and 5a, and NG5.
Nice in Roundup and showers in Polson. No moves on the ranch.
Heading to Polson for granddad duty. Josh came with mineral and tool hay and straw samples. No moves today.
Clear blue skies all day. Snow is melting fast. Large flocks of robins are feeding on old apples in the yard. Large flocks of meadowlarks are gathering. The first winter redpolls arrived. I even saw a lone vesper sparrow, slow to head south. One lone young bull moose passes through the Adolph yard.
Wake to 6 inches of snow. Yep, it came all right. Wet and cool. I saw my first rough-legged hawk. The winter hawk is back from the nesting season spent way to the north. Opened up last used paddocks to spread cows with muddy pasture conditions.
