Cloudy and mild. With filming Leopold crew, we move cows into 1st split in WL1. Most of day, Dana and I spent with filming crew, and finished day in Winnett with ACES WC. One bull found dead south of Ryan’s house-cause unknown.
Cooler. Mist cows leave WL4 and move back to WL5 which works well for move tomorrow into WL1 likely offering a good film opportunity for the Leopold film crew.
Morning frosts are here to stay, and the warming calm afternoons are ideal for tackling fall work. Relaxed cows and calves linger one more day in NBW8&7, earlier joined together to allow drifting during the earlier storm. Meadowlarks are sparse in their numbers following the storm and cold, and their singing is now rarely heard. We will have to wait until late March, and the arriving spring equinox, to again welcome the dominant cheerful melody of the plains.
