Night time freezing and 40’s during the day. 1st split move for NBW7.

Partly cloudy and mild. We bangs vaccinated heifers (164) and we will need to set a new date for transporting the calves to Wyoming. After feeding 4 bales to the cows, they escaped (my fault) into NBW7 and WL4. By nightfall, I got the cows placed into a small strip in WL4.
Just muddy. Thankful for a light frost to stiffen the ground for the morning work. Cows break into West lackey. I need most of afternoon to get them back into NBW5 3rd split.
More melting with some light rain. On the morning frost, I moved the cows to the third split.
Cold and cloudy but not too cold. Finally got cows placed in the right paddock (NBW5-first and second split). Snow begins melting today.
Cold still but some softening by nightfall. Third day that I pushed escaped cattle out of the pine trees. No sign of pine needle triggered abortions, yet still worrisome. Hard to locate cows in a new paddock-need better plan tomorrow. I trailed calves to corrals for working tomorrow, and then shipment next week to Wyoming.
Turning cooler and cloudy. Need to get the cows into a fresh paddock. Instead went to public session in Billings on sage grouse management.
Warming into the 30’s very nice. Lost 2 calves (one hit on the road last night). Our mistake. Ryan transports 18 cows to the Billings sale.
Cold and cloudy and clearing in the afternoon. Moved cows (283) back across road into NBW3. Cut 18 short-term bred cows (a few poor cows along with them). Rising waning moon on horizon at first mistaken for fire-just the right color for a night fire.
Cold and foggy most of day. Geese continue to move. We worked cows and cut off 16 late-term and problem cows. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and they can be transported to the sale on Tuesday. 283 cows went back out into SNG6 until I can get the next paddock ready.
